Queens County Bar Association Family Court Committee Co-Chair
The Perlmutter Law Firm was established in August 2008. Prior to opening, Mr. Eric Perlmutter spent almost 5 years at the New York City Administration for Children's Services, where he represented the City and its contracted agencies in cases involving the abuse and neglect of children from birth through the age of 18, and sometimes through 21. Mr. Perlmutter held the position of Team Leader and Supervisor, in which he supervised a team of lawyers, consulted on thousands of cases, and maintained his own extensive caseload.
Mr. Perlmutter took his knowledge of family law and the child welfare system in New York City and began representing families in need through the Assigned Counsel Plan and Attorney for Children Panel. In this capacity, Mr. Perlmutter represents indigent individuals in all areas of Family Law, including abuse and neglect, custody, child support, visitation, family offenses/orders of protection, paternity, foster care litigation, and juvenile delinquency.
Mr. Perlmutter earned his law degree at Hofstra University School of Law and participated in the Hofstra University Child Advocacy Clinic. He received his undergraduate degree at the University at Albany.
Mr. Perlmutter was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2003 and is a member of the New York State Bar Association,the New York County Bar Association, The Queens County Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association. Mr. Perlmutter was selected as a a 2015 and 2016 Rising Star by Super Lawyers. He is also Co-Chair of the Queens County Bar Association Family Law Committee.
Currently the Perlmutter Law firm is handling all matters relating to family law, as well as matrimonial/divorce actions and immigration matters involving Special Immigration Juvenile Status. His caseload consists of representation of both minors and adults.
